Welcome to Montessori Toddler Group De Peutertuin, conveniently located at Admiraliteitsweg 40 in the centre of Enkhuizen. We are a certified toddler group where children from the age of 2 can play and develop in a safe, prepared environment based on the Montessori vision. Our motto is “Help me to do it myself”; we give every child the space to grow and make discoveries at their own pace. De Peutertuin uses the recognised Early Childhood Education programme Peuterplein. Weekly themes such as winter, spring, traffic or animals are translated into language and maths activities, music, movement and creative corners. The pedagogical staff rearrange the room each time so that toddlers are challenged to build, puzzle, craft or read aloud from our book corner. Outside we have a secure garden where children can run, build sandcastles and explore nature. Our horizontal group consists of a maximum of 16 children aged 2-4. There is a fixed combination of days: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm. In between, the children receive a healthy piece of fruit and a drink. We take allergies and special wishes into account. Parents receive a regular newsletter and are always welcome to drop in and take a look. De Peutertuin is accessible to all families, regardless of background. We work closely with the primary schools in the area so that the transition to Year 1 runs smoothly.
