KDV Makkum De Vlindertuin

Located at Lieuwkemastraat 65 in the heart of Makkum, KDV De Vlindertuin offers children aged 0 to 4 a warm second home. We work with two vertical groups – ‘De Rupsjes’ (Caterpillars) and ‘De Vlinders’ (Butterflies) – where babies, toddlers and preschoolers play and learn together. This setup allows every child to develop at their own pace while learning from one another. Our bilingual approach is unique in the region. We consciously give equal attention to Dutch and Frisian and follow the guidelines of the certificate ‘Boartsjendewei in taal derby’. Support is provided by the Sintrum Frysktalige Berne-opfang (SFBO), so every child naturally becomes familiar with both languages. Flexibility is one of our core values. Parents can choose full days, half days or a flexible arrangement that fits the family rhythm. We are open Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 52 weeks a year. The child’s needs always come first: we offer loving attention, security and plenty of space to play, grow and simply be a child. KDV De Vlindertuin is part of Kids First Kinderopvang and has been registered in the National Childcare Register since 1 March 2010 under number 165531034. We have room for up to 32 children and welcome new families throughout the year.
