Klein is Groot

Klein is Groot is a warm and homely daycare centre located in a characteristic building at Laan Copes van Cattenburch 54 in the heart of the Archipel neighbourhood in The Hague. We provide care for up to 22 children aged 0 to 4 years. At our centre, the natural curiosity of the child is central. We experience each day together as a new adventure, spending lots of time outdoors. Children feel the sun on their faces, hear the wind rushing past their ears, and discover the scents and colours of the seasons. Sand slips through their fingers and in autumn they cheerfully splash through the leaves. We see our location as a home away from home, where children, parents and pedagogical staff feel safe and welcome. Our approach is small-scale and personal. We work with vertical groups, where children of different ages play and learn together. This stimulates social development and the natural learning behaviour of young children. The youngest ones observe the older children and learn by imitation, while the older children take pride in their role as 'big brother or sister'. Our spacious garden offers plenty of opportunities to play and explore. We use natural materials and encourage imaginative play. Inside, there is a quiet sleeping area where children can rest when they need to. We follow the child's rhythm: babies sleep and eat according to their own schedule, while toddlers and preschoolers participate in daily activities such as crafting with natural materials, singing and making music. We believe it's important that parents can leave their child with us with peace of mind. Therefore, open communication and transparency are high on our priority list. We take time for personal attention and regularly consult with parents about their child's development.
