Thuishuis de Torteltuin

Welcome to Thuishuis de Torteltuin, a small-scale daycare center located at Bordewijklaan 155 in Groningen. Our Thuishuis provides care for up to 12 children aged 0 to 4 years. We are part of Stichting Thuishuis, a franchise organization renowned for quality childcare in Northern Netherlands. At Thuishuis de Torteltuin, we believe that children need love, safety, discovery, investigation, experimentation and play. Our pedagogical policy focuses on fulfilling three basic needs: relationship (feeling welcome), competence (capabilities) and autonomy (independence). We provide children with a safe and loving environment where they feel competent and experience success. At the same time, we encourage their independence by allowing them to explore, experiment and make choices themselves. Our location is registered in the National Childcare Register under number 298862074. We work with a horizontal group structure, offering a maximum of 12 childcare places. This small-scale approach ensures personal attention and a homely atmosphere. Thuishuis de Torteltuin is managed by Martine Haasdijk-de Vries, who ensures that every child feels welcome in a second home. As part of Stichting Thuishuis, we benefit from annual courses, workshops and pediatric first aid training. The foundation guarantees quality through home visits, ensuring parents can be confident that quality is maintained. We offer childcare contracts for full days of 10.5 hours, with no charges during vacation weeks when we are closed. Parents can make use of childcare allowance, keeping care affordable.
