Welcome to Kinderopvang ’t Ketelhuisje, a warm and small-scale daycare centre in the heart of Lent. Since February 2025 we have been welcoming children from 0 to 4 years in an atmosphere that feels like home. Our monumental building at Thermionpark 30 has been converted into a homely place where a maximum of 16 children can play, sleep and discover at the same time. We work from four educational and pedagogical principles that together form a rich play-and-learning environment. The influence of our pedagogical professional, the homely learning environment, the calm learning environment and the discovering learning environment come together in every room. Unlike classic childcare, our rooms are not set up as group classrooms, but each room has a specific function. Every child can freely use all rooms and will find the right stimuli and guidance there. A pedagogical professional is always within sight or hearing. Our team consists of a close-knit group of permanent pedagogical professionals who have consciously chosen small-scale care. Personal contact with parents and working in a small team is our strength. In addition to the legally required diplomas, we have specialised in the specific care and attention that babies and toddlers need. We are genuinely involved in everything that surrounds the children and give them the opportunity to explore the world on the basis of their own initiative and social safety. ’t Ketelhuisje is open from Monday to Friday from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm. Extended care is available on request in the morning from 7.00 – 7.30 am and in the evening from 6.30 – 7.00 pm.
