Welcome to Piccolini Star, our intimate, small-scale daycare centre located at Starrenburglaan 65 in Wassenaar. As the newest location of Kinderopvang Piccolini, we provide loving, sustainable and bilingual childcare for up to 16 children aged 0-4 years. We operate from a unique combination of Reggio Emilia and Jenaplan pedagogical approaches, utilizing only the strongest characteristics of both philosophies. This means we give children all the space they need to be themselves and develop at their own pace, with full attention to nature, creativity and personal guidance. Our pedagogical staff create a warm, homely atmosphere where every child feels safe and valued. We pay great attention to healthy nutrition: fresh fruit, healthy snacks and warm meals are provided daily. For our youngest children, we provide customised bottle feeding and take into account any allergies or special dietary requirements. Through our online diary, parents can follow their child's daily experiences throughout the day. Outdoor play and nature experience are central to our approach. Children can play freely in our green garden, help with gardening and thus discover the world around them in a playful way. Music, dance and arts and crafts are fixed components of our programme, stimulating each child's creative development. As we work bilingually (Dutch and English), children develop natural language skills from an early age. As a small-scale organisation, we know each child and family personally. We offer flexible childcare options, including half days, and work closely with parents to ensure care is optimally tailored to their child's needs.
