Kinderopvang &Vriendjes is a small-scale daycare centre located at Kampstraat 4 in Beilen. We work with two vertical groups, meaning children aged 0 to 4 are cared for together in a homely atmosphere. Our group space is designed like a warm living room with soft colours and natural materials such as wood, reed and cork, helping children feel at ease quickly. We believe every child should feel safe, valued and loved. That’s why we follow a child-centred approach: we observe each child’s needs, interests and wishes and tailor our guidance accordingly. Children are free to choose whether to join an activity and are encouraged to explore and do things independently. From around the age of two, for example, they learn to spread their own bread. Our method is based on sensitive responsiveness. We pay close attention to the signals children give and respond to them consciously. We name emotions and feelings so that children feel seen and understood. Throughout the year we work with themes such as the seasons, emotions, family and traffic. These themes are reflected in reading aloud, craft activities, conversations and themed play corners. Thanks to our open-door policy, siblings can easily visit each other for a hug or to play together. This contributes to a sense of familiarity and supports attachment. Because we work on a small scale, the same friends, pedagogical staff and mentor stay involved with your child throughout their entire time with us. We don’t just offer childcare – we offer a second home.
