Kinderopvang 'De Spiker' KDV

Welcome to Kinderopvang ‘De Spiker’ KDV, located in the heart of Ternaard at Nesserwei 2. We offer a warm, safe and familiar environment where children aged 0 to 4 feel at home. Our small-scale daycare centre has room for up to 8 children, allowing us to provide personal attention and work with consistent caregivers in each group. Our location is housed in the former residential care centre ‘De Spiker’, a characteristic building in the centre of the village, surrounded by greenery and with a lovely outdoor space where children can play and explore to their heart’s content. Inside, we have created a cosy environment with different corners: from a homely play corner to a creative crafts area and a quiet sleeping nook. We use horizontal grouping, with babies and toddlers cared for separately, so we can tailor care and activities to each child’s developmental stage. Kinderopvang ‘De Spiker’ was born from a collaboration between Gersa Brander and Krista Hellinga, both qualified and experienced in childcare. Gersa trained as a pedagogical worker and has years of experience in daycare centres and playgroups. Krista completed the level 4 teaching assistant programme, is a certified pedagogical coach and holds a certificate for working with babies. Together they combine their knowledge and experience to create a place where children develop through play and parents can leave their child with peace of mind. We offer flexible childcare options, from half to full days, and are open Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 18:00. Children are given space to play, sing, craft and discover the world. We believe it is important that every child feels safe and seen, and that parents stay involved in their child’s development.
