Welcome to Kinderopvang de Opstekker, our day-care centre located inside primary school De Opstekker at De Jister 21 in the centre of Heeg. We provide care for up to 32 children aged 0 to 4 years in close partnership with Stichting Kinderopvang Friesland. Because we are situated within the school building, the children become familiar with the school environment at an early age, making the eventual transition to primary school feel completely natural. Our qualified pedagogical staff use Early Childhood Education (VVE) programmes to stimulate each child’s broad development. We focus on language, numeracy, social skills and motor development, always tuned to the world of young children. Toddlers and preschoolers discover the world around them through play, while babies receive the calm and stimuli that suit their stage of development. We work in small groups, ensuring plenty of individual attention and allowing us to respond to every child’s needs. Being part of the school means we enjoy spacious, bright classrooms and the secure outdoor areas of the school grounds. Children go outside every day, both in our own garden and on the playground. The collaboration with the school also gives parents the convenience of having everything under one roof: day-care, pre-school playgroup and later primary education.
