Welcome to Kinderopvang De Ooievaar Appelstraat, our brand-new location in the heart of the Vruchtenbuurt district in The Hague. Since 1 July 2025 we open our doors daily for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4. In a warm, homely setting we provide small-scale childcare where every child receives the personal attention they deserve. Our vision is clear: children growing up in connection with nature. We use nature and natural materials to stimulate children’s development in various areas. Being outdoors, exploring and adventurous outings are central. We work with natural materials for sensory and motor development and pay attention to musical development – singing, dancing and enjoying together. Our activities are designed to let children discover through play. Think of crafting with treasures found in the park, singing and dancing around themes such as seasons and animals, and short nature walks in the immediate vicinity. We celebrate the seasons and make use of the opportunities the neighbourhood offers. For example, at Easter we welcomed the Easter bunny who came to read a story and danced with the children. We are a small, close-knit team of qualified pedagogical staff providing a safe, loving and educational environment. Every child is unique and we offer space to be themselves and to grow with wonder and respect for nature. We work with horizontal groups, distinguishing between babies and toddlers to optimally support development. Our location at Appelstraat 165 is easily accessible and located in a quiet residential area. We are officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 424806381, allowing parents to apply for childcare allowance. We meet all national quality requirements and are under the supervision of the GGD Haaglanden. We look forward to forming a warm community together with parents and children in the Vruchtenbuurt. Together we ensure that the little ones not only grow up, but also with a good dose of fun and adventure!
