Kinderopvang De Blije Bij

Welcome to Kinderopvang De Blije Bij, located at Burgemeester Röellstraat 25 in Amsterdam. We are a certified daycare centre (KDV) for children aged 0 to 4, where every child is given the space to grow in a warm and loving environment. Our permanent, qualified caregivers are there for your child every day, supported by a child-development specialist with a bachelor’s degree who is ready to answer all your parenting questions. At De Blije Bij we believe in a predictable daily rhythm. The day starts at 07:00 with a welcoming ritual and a shared breakfast. This is followed by circle time with songs and the daily theme from the Uk & Puk Early Childhood Education programme, which focuses on language and social development. Between 10:30 and 11:30 we go outside or do arts-and-crafts indoors. Around 12:00 we enjoy a hot lunch together (soup or pasta), after which the children nap or take part in quiet activities such as story time and colouring. In the afternoon we offer fruit and a snack, followed by free play, puzzles or outdoor fun in our safe playground. We close at 18:00. All meals, drinks, nappies and baby food are included; special dietary needs can be arranged in consultation. Besides the regular schedule we organise music and dance lessons and, during holidays, almost daily excursions. This creates a varied programme where enjoyment and development go hand in hand. We work with horizontal groups so that children can play and learn with peers. Kinderopvang De Blije Bij has been recognised by the City of Amsterdam as an Early Childhood Education location since 2015. We use a settling-in period of at least four half-days so that child, parents and staff can get to know each other calmly. Care automatically ends on the child’s fourth birthday.
