Welcome to KDV Okiedokie, located at Zeshoevenstraat 36 in Udenhout. We are a daycare center for children aged 0 to 4 years, where every child is unique and we provide loving care. Nature experience plays a special role in our approach. We go outside with the children every day. In our garden, children take care of the plants and animals themselves. They care for and cuddle our rabbits, guinea pigs, and chickens, with hygiene being our top priority. Through our vegetable garden, children learn about vegetables and fruits. They help take care of the plants and discover how fun it is to grow their own food. A fresh egg from our chickens completes the experience! For children, there's almost nothing more fun than being busy outdoors, getting dirty, and exploring the world with friends. Research shows that children who are allowed to get dirty during play can discover and experiment freely. This makes them feel freer and happier. Outdoor play stimulates imagination, improves concentration, and encourages curiosity. In this way, we contribute to children's development and teach them to interact consciously with nature. Each group has fixed caregivers present to build a good relationship of trust and attachment with the children. Throughout the day, we follow a fixed daily schedule. This is recognizable for the children and meets their need for regularity and clarity. For toddlers and preschoolers, a fixed schedule is important because the structure it creates gives the child a sense of security. Children learn to recognize the sequence of events and thus gain control over their world. Every child has their own identity and possibilities, which our caregivers adapt their approach to. We attach great importance to good coordination between parents and our caregivers. The daily drop-off and pick-up conversations are very important for this.
