Welcome to Kinderdagverblijf de Helmstok, a warm and safe childcare centre located at Volkerakstraat 30 in Lelystad. We are part of CKO KleurRijk and provide care for up to 28 children aged 0 to 4 years. Our location is integrated within Kindcentrum De Helmstok, allowing children to seamlessly transition to primary school and after-school care on the same premises. Our Christian identity is central to everything we do. Our pedagogical staff share Christian values and help children experience God's love. We pray together, listen to Christian children's music and celebrate Christian holidays. This identity aligns with the Kanjertraining programme also used at the primary school, creating a consistent approach to child development. We operate with horizontal groups, caring for babies, toddlers and preschoolers in age-specific groups. This provides calm and structure, allowing us to tailor activities to each child's developmental stage. We offer preschool education (VVE), focusing on language, numeracy and social skills through play. We read Bible stories and Christian picture books, sing songs and create crafts related to our themes. Outdoor play is very important to us. Children enjoy our spacious playground with slides, swings and an artificial turf football field. In good weather, we visit the nearby park. We provide healthy lunches and snacks, accommodating allergies and dietary requirements. For our youngest children, we offer bottle feeding and nappy changes using parents' own supplies. Children sleep in separate bedrooms with cots and beds for peaceful rest. Kinderdagverblijf de Helmstok is a place where children feel safe, loved and seen.
