Kindercentrum Zus & Zo

Kindercentrum Zus & Zo is a professional childcare centre located in the village of Nieuw-Amsterdam. We provide care for children from 8 weeks to 4 years old in a cosy, homely atmosphere. Our premises at Sportlaan 87 house two horizontal age groups: Knabbel & Babbel and Woezel & Pip for children aged 0–30 months, and Pim & Pom for toddlers aged 24–48 months. The baby and toddler group offers a calm environment where our pedagogical staff can give full attention to each child’s individual care needs. Rest, rhythm and repetition create a sense of safety and trust. For the youngest infants, the daily schedule is guided entirely by each child’s personal sleep and feeding rhythm. The rooms are equipped with a large baby-pen and generous play mats that encourage motor development. Our toddler group Pim & Pom is a modern interpretation of the traditional crèche and playgroup. We deliberately devote ample time to every child’s needs and adapt flexibly. Toddlers learn through play in carefully designed play corners. In the central hall we have created a special toddler square where children are stimulated at their own level. We work with recurring themes from the VVE programme Uk & Puk, ensuring children are well prepared for primary school. We regularly organise special activities such as Mud Days, National Pancake Day and farm outings. During these excursions the children are collected by horse-drawn cart and get to meet calves, cows and farm tractors. We believe it is essential that parents can entrust their child to our care with complete peace of mind. Therefore, strong communication between our pedagogical staff and parents is a top priority.
