Kindercentrum Kees

Welcome to Kindercentrum Kees, a homely day-care centre located in the former vicarage at Juliana van Stolbergstraat 29 in the quiet village of Poederoijen. Since 1 January 2008 we have been supporting parents looking for small-scale, Christian day care with an open admission policy. With a maximum of 20 places we offer a cosy, friendly and open atmosphere where children aged 0 to 4 feel safe and at home. At Kindercentrum Kees we work in vertical groups: children of different ages are together, just like in a large family. This stimulates social development and gives older children the chance to help younger ones. Our pedagogical policy is aimed at seeing and appreciating every child as they are. We observe where a child is in their development and then offer the right challenge within the zone of proximal development – without performance pressure, but with healthy self-confidence as a result. Our daily rhythm closely matches that of home. We start at 6.30 am with breakfast for those who want it, followed by fruit, a snack, a warm lunch and around 5 pm a warm dinner. In between there is plenty of room for developmental materials, circle activities, outdoor play in our spacious garden and creative corners. Children are allowed to help with ‘household’ tasks such as cutting fruit, emptying the dishwasher or folding laundry; activities that underline the unique homely character of our centre. Flexibility is one of our priorities. You can choose between half-days (7 am–1 pm or 1 pm–7 pm), a maximum of two separate hours in between, or extra early and late services. We do not work with fixed contract days: cancelling or changing days is always possible, preferably via WhatsApp. For the very youngest we provide bottle feeding, nappies and care products in consultation with parents. We also take allergies and special dietary requirements into account. Kindercentrum Kees works with monthly themes that give the groups and materials a new impulse. We tailor activities to the age of the children and actively involve parents in their child’s wishes and habits. This keeps the line between home and day care as short as possible.
