KDV Stiens De Jint

KDV Stiens De Jint is located at Plataanstrjitte 2 in the centre of Stiens. We provide professional childcare for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years. The centre has been officially registered in the National Childcare Register since 2012 and operates under the supervision of the GGD Fryslân. Our pedagogical policy is fully focused on the very youngest. We use horizontal groups, so babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers each enjoy a safe, age-appropriate environment in which to play and develop. In our small-scale setting every child has the space to grow at his or her own pace. Early Childhood Education (ECE) is part of our programme. From the age of 2½ children can take part in this scheme, aimed at preventing language, numeracy and social-skill delays. Our experienced pedagogical staff tailor activities to the world of young children: singing, story-telling, finger-painting, block-building and exploring the garden. We value calm, regularity and repetition. Daily rhythms are clear so that children know what to expect. In between there is plenty of room for cuddles, a bottle or a nap in our separate sleeping areas. Parents experience us as involved, open and knowledgeable, and we work closely with them in caring for their child.
