Welcome to PSG Berend Botje Midwoud, our day-care centre at Tripkouw 32A in the heart of Midwoud. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years. As part of Kindercentrum Berend Botje Midwoud B.V. we guarantee small-scale, safe and development-oriented childcare in a homely setting. Our pedagogical starting point is clear: every child must feel emotionally safe with us. From that secure base your child is given every opportunity to develop personal and social competences. We work with permanent, qualified pedagogical staff who approach each child as a unique individual. Every day we follow development across six domains: motor skills, cognition, language, social-emotional development, play and self-reliance. We share these observations with you every six months via our parent app, so you stay involved in every step your child takes. Language and reading have a prominent place in our programme. We read aloud every day, sing songs and name everything the children do. In this way we not only stimulate vocabulary but also the joy of language. Creative activities such as drawing, crafts and singing are offered weekly and contribute to imagination and expression. The rooms are clearly laid out with recognisable corners: a reading corner, a construction corner, a home corner and a discovery corner. Open shelves invite independent play and experimentation. For the very youngest we have separate sleeping rooms where each child can rest in his or her own cot according to their natural rhythm. Bottle feeding is given on request and we take the habits of home into account. We work with a clear daily rhythm that provides structure, but within that framework we allow room for spontaneous activities and individual needs. When settling in we take all the time we need; together with you we draw up a settling-in plan that fits your child exactly. Our location uses VVE Startblokken, a recognised pre-school programme that playfully stimulates toddlers’ development and prepares them well for primary school. We offer both full and half-day care and keep you informed via our parent app with photos, reports and important announcements. Are you curious?
