Kindcentrum Meerdijk

Kindcentrum Meerdijk is located at Frans Halslaan 17 in the center of Waalwijk and is part of Mikz childcare organization. Under the leadership of area manager Anja Geerts, this very cozy fresh-green location opened its doors in May 2025. At this beautiful new location, children can play to their heart's content in an atmospheric, modern indoor space and on the green challenging outdoor area. We offer childcare here for babies and toddlers from 0 to 4 years. Together with Meerdijk primary school, we offer children between 0-13 years a familiar and trusted place. We find it important to promote a clear pedagogical vision together. Growing up is discovering! That's why we work from a continuous development line, where we guide children step by step in their development. We work with the philosophy of the three pedagogues, where children learn most from each other, adults play a guiding role, and the space and materials invite exploratory play. Our pedagogical professionals find it important that the children lack nothing and that they feel at home. Showing involvement and listening to the children's stories are therefore central. At Kindcentrum Meerdijk we are mainly outside and move with the rhythm of nature and the seasons. There is a large garden where there is much to discover. This is how we connect children more with nature. The emphasis is on experiencing nature and caring together for all that lives. We plant flowers together, pick the reddest strawberry and search for special butterflies. Children learn here what is healthy for themselves and for the environment! Consciously dealing with our environment and healthy nutrition is a focus for us. We separate waste together with the children and eat biologically responsible treats! We maintain a vegetable garden and we regularly make something delicious from our own grown vegetables and fruit. Fun, tasty and educational! What is observed outside is continued inside in, among other things, a reading corner and a home-and-building corner. There is also a discovery corner where magnifying glasses, funnels, containers and a light table provide the opportunity to view the wonders of nature or to connect a new activity to it. The group rooms are furnished with various play corners that invite exploratory and creative play. Via Jaamo, Mikz's parent portal, parents can find information, photos and stories about their child's well-being. We find it important to listen carefully to parents and coordinate with them, so that more consistency is created for the child in the home environment and at Mikz.
