Kindcentrum De Plataan

Kindcentrum De Plataan is located in the cultural center of the same name at Vledderstraat 3F in Meppel. We provide childcare for children aged 0 to 4 years in an inspiring environment where culture, play and development come together. Our baby/toddler group and preschool group make full use of the unique facilities in the building. We have a theater hall, studio, gymnasium and artistic spaces where we collaborate with Blink cultural education, the library and the toy library. These collaborations offer our children a rich and varied range of activities. As a VE location (preschool education), we provide additional support in language development. We work together with the consultation bureau and the municipality of Meppel. Our pedagogical staff closely follow each child's development and tailor activities to individual needs. We work according to the Dalton vision with the core values of cooperation, freedom & responsibility, effectiveness, independence and reflection. We translate this vision to young children by letting them learn to cooperate, make choices and discover their own development through play. Our horizontal group structure means that babies and toddlers are cared for separately from the preschool group, with each child receiving the attention they need. We value familiar faces and therefore work with fixed pedagogical staff per group.
