Kindcentrum Balans

Kindcentrum Balans is located at Klaverveld 5 in the Ypenburg district of The Hague. At this site we provide daycare (KDV) for up to 15 children aged 0-4 years. Our pedagogical staff are employed by Vlietkinderen, a professional childcare organisation with more than 25 years of experience in guiding young children. Together with the primary school we form one integrated child-centre where children aged 0-13 can develop in a safe and secure environment. Everything we do centres on calm, routine and attention. We work with fixed small groups so that every child has familiar faces around them. Babies (0-2 years) have a separate sleeping room with cots and cribs; toddlers and pre-schoolers (2-4 years) sleep in another room with stretchers. All beds are placed in a quiet, darkened area so that your child can rest well. In between naps we cuddle, sing songs and use simple musical instruments such as rattles and tambourines. We stimulate language development by talking a lot, reading picture books and playing sound and word games. Our spacious garden is directly adjacent to the building. Here children can run, cycle, build sandcastles and discover what nature has to offer. We regularly go on short outings in the neighbourhood: to the shopping centre, playground or park. When the weather is nice we eat outside and use our picnic tables. For the very youngest we have shaded spots and a sandpit with sitting area so that they too can play safely outdoors. We believe it is important that parents and children feel at home quickly. That is why we always start with an introductory meeting and you receive your own key so that you can take your time to settle in. You can report your child absent through our app and receive daily photos and reports via Social Schools. We also keep a developmental portfolio in which we carefully record your child’s milestones. Together with you we discuss progress during parent meetings.
