KDV Kierewam

Welcome to KDV Kierewam, our daycare centre at Kerkenveld 10 in the heart of Epe. We provide care for up to 48 children aged 0 to 4 years. Our approach centres on thematic learning: we select themes close to children’s everyday world and explore them for several weeks. Children get to know the topic, talk about it and play with matching materials. Our pedagogical staff, trained in Early Childhood Education (VVE), tailor activities to each child’s specific needs. We value children’s own imagination and creativity above all, so we avoid ready-made examples. During every activity we focus on the process. What development is the child going through? Are new things being discovered? We document these processes in a personal portfolio containing stories, photos and crafts. These folders are kept in the central hall and parents can view them at any time. When the child moves on to primary school, parents take the portfolio home as a lasting memory of the daycare years. Our centre has a spacious outdoor playground where children can play to their heart’s content. We use horizontal grouping so children play and learn in age-based groups. KDV Kierewam is part of Stichting Koppel-Swoe and guarantees safe, familiar care where development and enjoyment go hand in hand.
