Welcome to KDV Berend Botje location De Meridiaan, situated within primary school De Meridiaan at Schuitevoerderslaan 18 in Medemblik. Since February 2025 we offer small-scale, professional daycare for up to 30 children aged 0–4 under one roof together with the school. This unique collaboration ensures a seamless transition from toddler care to primary education and gives parents one trusted address for both childcare and schooling. Our pedagogical staff follow the Reggio Emilia philosophy: children are curious explorers who develop by playing and discovering. We provide a bright, safe environment with spacious indoor and outdoor areas filled with natural materials and inviting corners. Each day follows a predictable rhythm that offers security: play, songs, picture books, creative activities and outdoor play alternate. We sing together, craft with paint, clay and natural materials, read from our rich book collection and make short trips to the playground and school garden. For the youngest we operate separate baby and toddler groups in horizontal grouping, ensuring every age receives the right stimuli and rest. We change nappies, provide bottle- or breastfeeding according to your wishes and follow the sleep routine from home. Our child-tracking system (KVS) records your child’s development; through the secure Parent App you receive daily photos and short reports. For toddlers we use Early Childhood Education programmes that stimulate language, numeracy and social skills through play and prepare them well for primary school. Healthy nutrition matters: fresh fruit, whole-grain bread and warm meals are prepared by our own cook. We accommodate allergies and dietary needs such as vegetarian, lactose- or gluten-free. Spare clothes, sunscreen and sleeping gear are ready, so you can drop off your child worry-free. Our centre is open 51 weeks a year, Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; half-day care is possible.
