Welcome to Daycare De Juliana, a homely branch of MIK & Spelenderwijs located in the historic Jekerkwartier district of Maastricht. Set in a listed building with more than 102 years of history, we welcome children from 6 weeks to 4 years and offer them a true home-away-from-home where every child feels safe and secure. Our group structure comprises six sections: two baby groups (0-2.5 years), two toddler groups (2-4 years) and two mixed-age groups (0-4 years). This allows siblings to grow together or children to play and learn in age-specific settings. All rooms are bright and inviting; our regular pedagogical staff ensure continuity and warm relationships. We are proud of our large city garden and separate baby garden. The city garden offers plenty of space to run, climb and explore, while the baby garden is safely enclosed and specially designed for the very youngest. Outdoor play is part of our daily routine: fresh air, natural elements and learning through play are central to our approach. We also provide Pre- and Early-School Education (VVE). Through themed activities we stimulate language development, social skills and each child’s overall development. Structure, calm and challenge alternate so that children can develop at their own pace. Daycare De Juliana is open Monday to Friday from 07.30 to 18.00. Extended care until 18.30 is available by arrangement. During late-night shopping, holidays and major city-centre events we even offer ‘SHOPvang’, giving parents maximum flexibility. Together with parents and our active parent committee we continuously invest in quality and a warm community.
