Islamitische Kinder Centrum Al Medina B.V

IKC Al Medina is the first Islamic childcare centre in the Netherlands, officially opening its doors on 10 January 2022 at Terwestenstraat 105 in The Hague. We were established through a close partnership with IBS AlQoeba, enabling children from 0 to 4 years to experience a continuous Islamic learning line in one location that aligns perfectly with the home situation of our families. Our daycare accommodates up to 50 children and is guided by a clear vision: “We devote daily attention to our Islamic background in accordance with the Quran and the Sunnah of our Prophet, peace be upon him.” This vision is reflected in a safe learning and play environment where every child can develop securely and proudly. We use horizontal grouping, so babies, toddlers and preschoolers are placed in age-based groups and receive developmentally appropriate activities. For the very youngest we provide bottle feeding, nappies and rest periods in separate sleeping areas. Toddlers aged 2.5 to 4 can also join our pre-school education (VE) programme, offered 40 weeks a year, either in the morning from 08:30 to 12:30 or in the afternoon from 13:00 to 17:00. These sessions focus on language development, independence and learning through play, ensuring a smooth transition to primary school. Our daycare is open 49 weeks a year, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 18:30. During school holidays and study days we remain open so parents can stay flexible. On official public holidays, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha we are closed; parents are informed well in advance. We believe it is important that parents feel involved and reassured. Our caring, committed pedagogical staff are ready to work with you to put your child’s well-being first, giving every child the space to grow at their own pace in an environment that respects and strengthens their identity.
