IKC SamenWijs

Welcome to IKC Samen Wijs, located at Roerdompstraat 1 in the Holy-Zuid district of Vlaardingen. As an Integral Child Centre we combine childcare and primary education under one roof. We are part of the Wijzer in Childcare & Education foundation, offering children from 0 to 13 years a seamless experience in one familiar place. For the youngest children we provide full-day childcare (KDV) in partnership with Ukkepuk. This service is designed for children aged 0-4 and takes place in a safe, homely environment. Our professional staff are experts in early childhood development and give every child the calm, structure and stimuli they need. Play-based learning is central: we focus on movement-based learning (dance, motor skills) and inquiry-based learning (science, nature) tailored to the young child’s world. Themes follow their interests so children understand the purpose of their activities. Toddlers aged 2-4 can also attend our toddler group ‘De Dolfijnen’, located in the same building. These horizontal groups work with fixed age cohorts, ensuring activities match your child’s developmental stage. During toddler care, children already become familiar with the primary school setting, smoothing the transition to group 1/2. We organise joint themes and activities with the school, and a ‘warm handover’ takes place between the childcare worker and the teacher. Our site offers a spacious, green outdoor playground and bright, airy group rooms. We operate an allergy policy and adapt our provision to individual needs.
