IJsterk De Zeeheld

IJsterk De Zeeheld is our preschool facility located at Roggeveenstraat 14 in the Zeeheldenbuurt district of Amsterdam. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 2 to 4 years in one horizontal group. As part of All-in-One School De Zeeheld, we work closely with the primary school, aligning themes and programs to ensure a seamless educational experience. Our pedagogical approach is based on the Early Childhood Education (ECE) program "Startblokken van Basisontwikkeling" (Building Blocks of Basic Development). This program stimulates children's social, emotional, and motor development through play while promoting play behavior, learning, and language development. We work thematically, adapting both activities and the group room layout to match the current theme. This allows each child to develop at their own pace within a familiar environment. Outdoor play is important to us, and we enjoy spending plenty of time in our fun outdoor playground. We go outside every day, regardless of the weather. De Zeeheld is housed in a beautiful building from 1892 featuring Neo-Renaissance architecture. Inside, it's a modern facility with plenty of space and light, spacious corridors, high ceilings, and beautiful glass panels. The area in front of the school is car-free, and at the back, there's a fenced schoolyard with multiple levels and plenty of room to play.
