KDV Het Pinguinnest

Welcome to KDV Het Pinguïnnest, our small-scale daycare center located at Weidevogellaan 268 in Ypenburg. We provide care for up to 36 children aged 0 to 4 years in a homely atmosphere where peace, personal attention and a rich developmental environment are central. As part of gro-up childcare, we work according to a clear pedagogical policy focused on the broad development of each child. Healthy nutrition is very important to us. In addition to the daily bread meal, we always serve fresh vegetables such as cucumbers, bell peppers and tomatoes. We regularly prepare macaroni or soup, allowing children to discover different flavors while getting enough vegetables. Special dietary requirements are of course discussed and accommodated where possible. For your child's development, we use the KIJK child tracking system. This helps our pedagogical staff choose targeted activities that precisely match your child's developmental level and interests. We schedule regular 10-minute conversations with parents to discuss progress. Through our parent app, we share photos and updates, and you can easily request additional daycare days. Our activity program is varied and stimulating. We work with the Peuterplein method where the joy of playing and discovering comes first. Daily we offer creative activities, music and language activities, movement activities and reading moments. We regularly organize trips to the local library where children can choose books or where the library visits us for a reading session. We also host special events such as a reading breakfast with parents, Easter brunch and sports activities like the Toddler Four-Day March, King's Games and Mud Day. Our location features a large play hall and children's studio. The groups are horizontally structured, with babies and toddlers cared for in age groups. We work according to the four-eyes principle: there are always at least two pedagogical staff members present to ensure a safe environment.
