KDV Het Paarse Schaap

Welcome to KDV Het Paarse Schaap, our unique farm location in the heart of Midden-Delfland. We provide childcare for 24 children aged 0 to 4 years in a warm, homely atmosphere where outdoor life takes center stage. Our location at Groeneveld 2 in Schipluiden is housed in a characteristic 1937 building with a spacious natural playground where children can play and explore freely. At Het Paarse Schaap, we work according to Montessori and Reggio Emilia pedagogical approaches. This means we give children space to develop at their own pace while stimulating their natural curiosity. Our pedagogical staff guide children on their journey of discovery through the world, using natural materials and the rich environment of our farm location. Our farm is no ordinary childcare facility. Here, children can daily interact with real farm animals. They help feed the sheep, collect freshly laid eggs, and pick seasonal vegetables from our own vegetable garden. These direct experiences with nature form an important part of our educational program. We believe that through these interactions with animals and nature, children develop a deep respect for their environment. Our groups are horizontally structured, with different age groups. Babies have their own quiet space with bedrooms where they can sleep in cribs. For toddlers and preschoolers, we have a large discovery space where they can play, craft, and learn. We offer both full and half-day care, tailored to parents' needs. Nutrition is an important part of the day at our facility. We serve organic meals, often prepared with ingredients from our own garden. Think fresh soups, bread meals, and healthy snacks. For the youngest ones, we provide bottle feeding according to parents' schedules. We accommodate allergies and dietary requirements. Our location is easily accessible with ample parking. We work with a permanent team of qualified pedagogical staff who ensure a safe and stimulating environment for your child every day.
