Het Kuikennest

Welcome to childcare centre Het Kuikennest, located at Kerkuillaan 1 in The Hague’s Ypenburg district. Part of Gro-up Kinderopvang, we provide day-care for up to 72 children aged 0 to 4. We use horizontal groups: two baby groups for children 0-2 years and one toddler group for children 2-4 years. Healthy food and a language-rich environment are high on our list. Every day the children receive a nutritious bread meal with fresh vegetables such as cucumber, bell pepper or cherry tomatoes. We also serve warm dishes like macaroni and soup and let the children discover gently steamed vegetables in a playful way. Our spacious, bright group rooms open onto a green garden designed especially for the very youngest. There is a separate baby area with a shade sail, a slide, sandpit and stepping beams for balancing. We go outside every day: cycling, digging, watching the tram go by or simply running around. We stimulate language through our MiniBieb, where parents can borrow books to read with their child at home. We work together with Ypenburg Library and invite grandparents to come and read aloud. Themes such as Summer, Art, Food & Drink and Housing are covered in our Early Childhood Education programme Piramide, which supports each child’s development step by step. Special days make our centre even more fun: Mud Day, King’s Games, National Reading Week, Children’s Book Week, pancake day, ugly-sweater day and all major holidays are celebrated in style. We also regularly head out into the neighbourhood for an excursion. Feel free to drop by and experience the atmosphere.
