KDV Het Keizerskroontje

KDV Het Keizerskroontje is located at Keizerweg 20 in the green surroundings of Boekelo, a quiet rural area of Enschede. We provide care for up to eight children aged 0 to 4 years in a homely, safe and natural environment. Our location is housed in a characteristic building from 1904 with a spacious garden where children can play and explore freely. Nature experience is central to our approach. Every day, children have the opportunity to be outside, experiment with mud, walk barefoot across the footpath and learn through experience. In our own vegetable garden we grow seasonal vegetables and fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, apples, pears and tomatoes. Children are encouraged to help with harvesting and discover where food comes from. When our chickens lay an egg, the children may collect it together with a pedagogical staff member. Our animals – rabbits, chickens and a pony – are an important part of our daily activities. Children learn to interact with animals in a playful way: they feed, pet, cuddle and care for the animals under the guidance of our pedagogical staff. Animals have a positive influence on children's social and emotional development. They learn empathy, responsibility and feel more open to express themselves. Our animals are vaccinated, regularly dewormed and visited by the veterinarian twice a year. For safety, children and staff wear appropriate clothing and always wash their hands thoroughly after visiting the animals. For sleeping, we offer both a quiet bedroom with beds and the option to sleep outdoors in specially designed outdoor cribs. Outdoor sleeping only occurs with parental consent and provides children with fresh air, increased vitamin D and better sleep quality. Our outdoor cribs are safely screened with mesh and plexiglass, and are checked every 10 to 15 minutes by our pedagogical staff. Our goal is to provide reliable, calm and natural childcare where children enjoy coming and parents can leave their children with confidence.
