Het Ezeltje

Welcome to Het Ezeltje, a small-scale and homely daycare centre located at Beckummerweg 28 in Haaksbergen. For over 12.5 years we have provided care for up to 10 children per day in one vertical group. Children aged 0-4 grow up here surrounded by animals, fresh air and genuine attention. At Het Ezeltje, the child’s world of experience is central. We spend a lot of time outdoors: playing in nature, caring for animals and exploring our vegetable garden are key parts of our programme. Our donkey Zoe gave the daycare its name, and under supervision the children may stroke and brush her. Chickens and rabbits also teach the children to treat living creatures with care. Free play and natural learning come first, allowing children to grow at their own pace. We believe "there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing". So we go outside even when it rains. We even organise a special Mud Day, because getting dirty is allowed! The dirt from outdoor play is washed off, but the memories last a lifetime. Our approach is personal and involved. We choose healthy food without unnecessary sugars and tailor activities to each individual child. Every child is different and is given the space to discover themselves at Het Ezeltje.
