PO de Knuffel

Welcome to PO de Knuffel, our small-scale toddler care centre in the heart of Beesd. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 2 to 4 years in a homely and safe environment at Jeugdlaan 2c. Our goal is to prepare toddlers for primary school through play, making the transition to regular education less daunting. Our permanent, qualified pedagogical staff give each toddler personal attention. We know every child and are always there for one another. Our location consists of two play areas: a creative corner with various developmental zones and a space for gross-motor play. We share a secure outdoor area with the adjacent day-care centre and have access to a large gym in the same multi-purpose building. Being outside and moving is important to us, so we regularly go outdoors for nature and movement activities. We follow the Early Childhood Education (VVE) programme. This curriculum offers extra stimulation to children who need it, ensuring every child has equal opportunities to develop optimally. Through play we practise language, social skills and independence. We teach toddlers to play together with peers so that they can start primary school with confidence. PO de Knuffel is open during school weeks, Monday to Friday from 08:30 – 12:30, except on official holidays and the annual staff training day. We operate a horizontal group structure: De Knuffel 1 is specifically for children aged 2-4.
