Welcome to Day-care Ons Dorpje Tussenmeer, a homely nursery located at Tussen Meer 70 in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. We provide care for 34 children aged 0–4, divided into three horizontal groups that match each child’s developmental stage. Our qualified staff follow the Kaleidoscoop Early Childhood Education programme, stimulating language, numeracy and social skills through play. Our day starts at 7.30 a.m. with a cuddle and a song, followed by a shared breakfast. Babies are bottle-fed on schedule and sleep peacefully in separate rooms with white-noise machines. Toddlers enjoy a hot, freshly prepared lunch and then explore our natural garden with sandpit, water pump and seasonal discovery boards. We love getting our hands dirty: planting flowers, feeding birds and taking trips to nearby Rembrandtpark to experience the changing seasons. Creativity is central to our approach. Our art corner is stocked with paint, clay and natural materials for building, drawing and crafting. Music and dance are part of every day: we sing circle-time songs, make our own instruments and move to rhythms from around the world. Storytelling happens through picture books, puppet theatre and drama invented by the children themselves. Safety and health are the foundation of everything we do. The building has secure entry, we work under the HKZ quality mark and our safety risks are updated every quarter. If your child has an allergy or dietary requirement we are happy to adapt our menus.
