KDV Eigen-Wijs

KDV Eigen-Wijs is located in the Brede Maatschappelijke Voorziening (BMV) at Musschenberg 26c in Spaubeek. Together with the primary school and after-school care we form one integrated Child Centre (KC), where education, care and parenting support flow seamlessly into each other. Our modern, multifunctional building is situated right next to the kindergarten classrooms, ensuring a smooth and familiar transition from daycare to school. We provide care in one vertical group for children aged 0 to 4 years, and we also offer separate toddler care for children aged 2 to 4. Our qualified pedagogical staff follow a structured daily programme that is carefully tailored to each child’s age and developmental stage. For babies we keep the familiar home routine as much as possible and parents receive daily updates through a digital logbook covering sleep, feeding and activities. Toddlers take part in weekly sessions based on the Early Childhood Education method Speelplezier. This programme places extra emphasis on language development and stimulates curiosity through targeted activities and rich interactions. Inside, the group room is arranged into distinct play corners: a construction corner for stacking and creating, a home corner for role-play, a reading corner with picture books, and a quiet baby area with cots and soft toys. Every child can explore and grow at their own pace. Outdoor play is part of our daily rhythm. Our garden offers safe play opportunities for all ages: climbing, running, cycling, sand play or simply enjoying the mud. The youngest children have their own separate baby garden where they can gently experience wind, sunshine and greenery. We believe children learn about the world best through play, and we want every child to feel safe and happy.
