KDV Dokkum De Tuimelaar

KDV De Tuimelaar in Dokkum is a daycare centre for children aged 0 to 4. We offer full-day, half-day and flexible care for up to 32 children. Loving attention and a sense of security are at the heart of everything we do; we give children space to develop and above all encourage them to play and simply be children. That is exactly what they are allowed to be with us. Our location is officially recognised as a bilingual daycare centre. We follow a bilingual policy in which both Dutch and Frisian receive focused attention. This is done in accordance with the guidelines of the certificate “boartsjendewei in taal derby” and with support from the Sintrum Frysktalige Berne-opfang (SFBO). On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays our second group is open. Here we offer a toddler programme for children aged 2 to 4, fully integrated within the daycare programme. In this way we prepare toddlers playfully for the next step in their development. We work from the conviction that the child’s needs always come first. One parent described our centre as: ‘My daughter enjoys it there, it’s a familiar environment and she gets plenty of attention. They think along with both child and parents!’ KDV De Tuimelaar is part of Kids First Kinderopvang Noord-Nederland B.V. and has been registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK 176786569) since 2 January 2010, allowing parents to apply for childcare allowance.
