KDV De Windroos

KDV De Windroos is part of the Integral Child Centre Daltonschool De Windroos, located at Proostdijstraat 39 in Mijdrecht. We provide small-scale childcare in one vertical group for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4. Our space is situated within the school building and includes a large group room, two sleeping rooms, child-friendly toilets and a small kitchen. Outside, children can play safely in the private playground adjacent to the daycare wing. We follow the pedagogical policy of Kinderopvang KaKa, aligned with the Dalton core values: cooperation, responsibility, independence, reflection and effectiveness. Babies follow their own rhythm as much as possible, while toddlers follow a more structured daily routine with fixed meal and nap times. We offer a rich, stimulating environment with developmental materials and play corners, giving children the freedom to choose and explore. From around the age of 3, we encourage cooperative play and teach children to take responsibility for small tasks such as handing out fruit or clearing the table. This supports their independence and prepares them for primary school. For the oldest toddlers, we run the 3+ programme on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings: an introduction to the kindergarten group where childcare staff accompany the children and use themes and materials from the kindergarten classes. This creates a smooth transition from childcare to education. We also regularly use the school gym for physical activities and take the children outside as often as possible. Our opening hours are from 07:15 to 18:30. Half-day care is available and we are flexible when it comes to picking up siblings.
