De Walvis

De Walvis is a small-scale daycare centre located at Holendrecht 29 in Abcoude. We offer full or half-day care for children aged 0 to 4 years. Our approach focuses on providing security and tailored development. We work in horizontal groups, grouping children by age. During their first year, children stay in the baby group, where we follow the rhythm they are used to at home and provide a safe space for learning to roll and crawl. From around 13 months, they move to the toddler group, where there is more room for motor and play development and we start fun group activities. After their second birthday, children join the preschool group, where toys, books and activities are tailored to their developmental level and we encourage independence. We serve organic food and drinks and provide a warm meal at midday.
