Welcome to KDV de Vuurvogel, located at the broad Vuurvogel school on Faunalaan 250 in Driebergen-Rijsenburg. We are a Waldorf-inspired daycare centre that welcomes children from 0 to 4 years in a homely, warm and safe environment. Our facility is part of the Free (Waldorf) School and works closely with the primary school, creating a seamless line from 0 to 12 years. We keep our groups small, averaging five children per qualified educator. This allows us to give every child the individual attention they deserve and to tailor our care to each child’s needs. The calm layout, clear daily rhythm and natural materials create a setting where children feel secure and can play freely. Play corners are furnished with simple wooden and other natural toys that stimulate imagination while keeping the senses at ease. Our two locations – on the school grounds and at the nearby children’s farm – each offer their own atmosphere. At school you will find a baby group (0-2 years) and a toddler group (1-4 years); at the children’s farm there is one horizontal group for children 0-4 years. The farm location gives children the chance to meet animals and experience the seasons in our nature garden. We work thematically and follow the yearly festival rhythm of the Free School, baking, cooking, crafting and singing around the seasons. We provide a warm, vegetarian meal and offer bottle feeding or breastfeeding according to your child’s rhythm. There is ample space to sleep in separate sleeping rooms and we align the sleep rhythm with what is customary at home. We also take food allergies and other special wishes into account.
