De Vrijbuiter

Welcome to De Vrijbuiter, a homely and small-scale daycare center located in and around a residential house at Hoofdweg 29 in Wagenborgen. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years in a green, natural environment where outdoor play is central. As a green childcare facility, we believe that children develop best through free play in nature, using sustainable, natural materials that are often readily available. Our large garden offers endless opportunities for discovery and adventure. Each season brings its own magic: in spring we study everything that grows and blooms, in summer we jump in ditches and play with water and mud, in autumn we build huts and search for mushrooms, and in winter we make a cozy fire or slide down the hill with our sleds. Even in the rain, children can enjoyably mess around with mud and paint with natural materials. We work with small, vertical groups where children of different ages play together and learn from each other. The homeliness of our location, situated in a real residential house, provides a familiar and safe environment where children quickly feel at home. We value each child's own input and stimulate their imagination and creativity by offering open materials and free play opportunities. Our pedagogical staff guide play where necessary, but mainly give children the space to discover for themselves. We believe that through free play in nature, children not only develop their motor skills, but also learn to cooperate, think creatively, and gain respect for nature. The seasonal activities always offer surprising possibilities for every age, with fun and nature experience always being paramount.
