KDV De Steenuiltjes

We are KDV De Steenuiltjes, located in the heart of Bilthoven at Planetenplein 2. Our daycare center is part of Kind & Co Ludens and is situated in the cultural center Het Lichtruim, which also houses the Christian primary school Wereldwijs. This unique location allows us to provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years in an inspiring environment. At De Steenuiltjes, we work according to our Pedagogical Heart. This means we give children space to feel comfortable and have fun, as only then can they grow and discover optimally. We believe every child is welcome and provide trust and space to be curious and explore the world. For us, play equals discovery and learning. Therefore, we actively offer an inspiring and challenging environment where children develop through play. Our childcare is a mini-society where we care for each other and the world around us. We work with vertical groups, where children aged 0 to 4 play and learn together. This setup stimulates social development and gives younger children the opportunity to learn from older children. Our location is officially registered as a daycare center with preschool education (VE), where we pay extra attention to Dutch language development. We do this through thematic work, involving games, singing songs, reading aloud, drawing, and of course playing outside. Our spacious location accommodates up to 80 children and features its own garden/playground where children can play and discover to their heart's content. We believe it's important for children to play and experience both indoors and outdoors, while we encourage them to discover nature and develop their motor skills.
