Kindcentrum De Startbaan

Welcome to Kindcentrum De Startbaan, located at Oude Tempellaan 9A in the heart of Soesterberg. We are a developing child centre where childcare and education flow seamlessly together. Together with Stichting Kinderopvang Amersfoort (Ska) we offer a continuous pedagogical and didactic learning line for children from 2 to 13 years old. For the very youngest, aged 2 to 4, we have our own day-care centre where every child is given the space to grow and flourish. Our play-and-learn group is the toddler school ‘new style’. We work in horizontal groups so that children play with peers and still receive all the attention they deserve. Ska’s pedagogical staff take time every morning and afternoon to respond to what the child needs at that moment. Crafting, singing, reading aloud, building, running, cooking or exploring together – it can all be done in our bright, safe and challenging spaces. We teach toddlers social skills such as sharing, cooperating and taking turns through play, exactly the skills they will need in primary school. Exercise and healthy eating are high on our agenda. Every day there is fresh seasonal fruit and a drink ready and we encourage the children to play outside a lot in our green garden. We love excursions: to the petting zoo, the forest or a theatre performance nearby. Music, dance and creative expression are part of our regular activity programme, as well as cooking and baking in our children’s kitchen. This way, toddlers discover the world around them while playing. Parents stay informed via the Parro app about how the day went: when did my child sleep, what did they eat and what discoveries did they make? We believe it is important that parents and pedagogical staff work together on the broad development of the child. That is why our door is always open for a chat, a question or a tour.
