Peuteropvang De Fontein

Peuterschool De Fontein is a location of De Rotterdamse Peuterschool, part of Stichting Peuter & Co. We are located at Hoyledestraat 25 in Rotterdam-Noord and work closely with primary school De Fontein. This collaboration makes the transition from preschool to primary school both literally and figuratively smaller. We focus on learning through play. We offer children aged 2 to 4 a safe and familiar place where they can develop into independent, social and resilient individuals. Our pedagogical staff stimulate children in the areas of language, motor skills, creativity and social skills. We work in a results-oriented way and follow a clear continuous learning line, tailored to the needs of each child. We offer two toddler playgroups daily: a morning group from 08:15 to 11:30 and an afternoon group from 12:10 to 15:25. We work with small groups of up to 16 children, allowing us to give plenty of individual attention. Our activities focus on emerging literacy and numeracy, and we pay special attention to language stimulation. We speak only Dutch in the group, so that all children develop the same language skills. Outdoor play is a fixed part of our program. We go outside every day, in all weather. We consider physical activity just as important as language development. Our location has its own outdoor space where children can run, climb and play. We also offer creative activities and work with themes that match the world of experience of toddlers. Parents are not outsiders with us. We see parents as educational partners and actively involve them in their child's development. We regularly inform parents about progress and give tips for home. Together we ensure that every toddler gets an optimal start, ready for primary school and the world beyond.
