KDV De Ontdekking

KDV De Ontdekking is located at Andriessenplein 4 in Deventer and is part of Kindcentrum De Ontdekking, a modern and welcoming child centre based on the Montessori philosophy. We offer daycare for children aged 0 to 4 in a safe, home-like environment where every child is given the space to explore the world at their own pace. Our pedagogical staff work in fixed groups and guide children using a one-on-one mentoring system. Each child is assigned a mentor who closely follows their development and well-being. Our approach is shaped by a pedagogical quality tree that translates the four core goals of the Dutch Childcare Act into daily practice: emotional safety, personal development, social skills, and the acquisition of values and norms. We offer both horizontal baby groups and vertical toddler groups. The play areas are enriched regularly based on the children’s interests, using natural materials and real-life experiences. We have our own discovery garden where children can play with sand, water, and plants. Outdoor play is part of our daily routine, with at least two outdoor sessions per day. KDV De Ontdekking works closely with the primary school and toddler care within the same child centre, ensuring a continuous developmental path from 0 to 13 years. We provide early childhood education (VVE) to support language development and school readiness. Parents are actively involved through a parent app for scheduling and daily personal contact during drop-off and pick-up. We are open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30.
