KDV De Leeuwerik

Welcome to KDV de Leeuwerik, located on the ground floor of primary school De Leeuwerik at Boschweg 70 in the rural village of Einighausen. We are a small-scale daycare centre that welcomes up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years in one vertical group. This arrangement allows brothers and sisters to play together, lets the youngest learn from the older ones, and teaches toddlers to be caring towards babies. Our spacious group room is divided into different play corners that spark curiosity and encourage new skills through play. There is a cosy reading corner with picture books, a construction area with soft blocks and sustainable wooden toys, an arts-and-crafts table where little hands can experiment with paint and clay, and a quiet sleeping area with cribs and toddler beds. Large windows provide plenty of natural light and a direct view of our own secure outdoor space. Outside we have a fully fenced garden with a sandpit, climbing frame, swing and soft safety surface. When the weather is nice, we spend lots of time outdoors; children can enjoy the mud kitchen, water and sand tables, or simply run and climb to their heart’s content. During the day we share this outdoor area with the toddlers from ’t Soosje, so there are always peers to play with. Our regular pedagogical staff follow the Early Childhood Education (VVE) programme. Every morning starts with a circle-time activity: we sing together, read a story and use rhymes and gestures to stimulate language and numeracy skills in a playful way. Plenty of free-play time is also provided, always focusing on each child’s individual development. Care for the very youngest is of course included: we give bottle feeds on parents’ request, change nappies in our separate changing area, and offer familiar nap times in a quiet sleeping corner or, if parents prefer, in the pram outside. Fruit and drinks are included; hot meals can be brought from home and warmed up. KDV de Leeuwerik is part of MIK & Spelenderwijs, an organisation with more than 25 years of experience in childcare in the region. We work closely with primary school De Leeuwerik and toddler care ’t Soosje, ensuring a smooth transition to toddler care or primary school. Parents can choose half or full days, flexible care days and are always welcome for a personal tour. We warmly invite you to come and see our colourful, safe and homely environment.
