Welcome to Daycare De Klauteraars, located at Bongerd 10 in Capelle aan den IJssel. We are part of gro-up childcare and provide care for up to 42 children aged 0 to 4 years. Our location is intentionally small-scale, ensuring every staff member knows each child by name. We believe this personal connection is essential to truly care for your child. We operate three horizontal core groups: the sturdy Pandas (0-3 years), the cool Koalas (2-4 years) and the swinging Monkeys (0-3 years). Each group has its own identity and fixed age boundaries, yet when occupancy is low we may purposefully combine children for specific activities or to let them play with peers of the same age. We call this ‘open-door activities’: children are literally given more room to move and may use each other’s rooms or an empty space. Children decide for themselves what they want to do. We have created several challenging play corners with toys placed at eye level. Babies have a special playpen where they can move freely while still staying in contact with the other children. We work with themes that change every six weeks, providing clarity and structure to the day. Outdoor play is part of our routine. Whenever possible we go outside or take a trip with our electric cargo bike. We enjoy nature and sometimes sneak a peek at the ‘big’ kids from the primary school next door, making the step to school feel smaller. We cooperate closely with nearby primary schools and arrange a detailed hand-over when your child moves on. Our location is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. We kindly ask you to bring your child before 9:00 a.m. so the daily programme can run without interruption. Strollers and buggies may not be left on site. All practical information and appointments are shared through the parent app.
