KDV de Kindertuin

Welcome to KDV de Kindertuin, located within Vrije School Peelland at Helmondselaan 71, Helmond. For many children, De Kindertuin is the very first step without mum or dad. That is why we create a homely environment in which young children feel safe, secure and at ease. Our approach is inspired by Rudolf Steiner’s anthroposophical view of the human being and the world. For children aged 0 to 4 we offer full-day care called ‘Hazeltje’. The groups are arranged horizontally, so babies, toddlers and preschoolers each have their own tailored space. Rooms are decorated in soft, natural colours and furnished with toys made of wool, cotton and wood that stimulate the senses without overwhelming them. Separate sleeping rooms with cots are available; the youngest babies nap outdoors in fresh air under a canopy, while older infants rest indoors or outside in a quiet corner. Our qualified staff take care of everything: nappies, wipes, formula and, later, bread meals and fruit are all included. We accommodate allergies and special diets. Each day we sing songs, tell stories and make simple art with natural materials. The garden of Vrije School Peelland offers plenty of room for sand play, gardening and experiencing the seasons. Toddlers can also join our preschool group ‘Hompeltje’ (2-4 years) on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 08:30-12:30. We work thematically and playfully on language, motor skills and social development, using the VVE programme ‘Uk & Puk’ adapted to our anthroposophical vision. Parents can choose a full day, morning or afternoon; half-days are always possible. Connection is central at De Kindertuin: connection between child, parents and staff.
