Welcome to KDV De Argonauten Op Stoom, located in the heart of Haarlem’s Garenkokerskwartier. As part of IKC De Argonauten, we share more than just an entrance with the primary school — we offer a continuous learning line that provides children with consistency and familiarity. Our focus is on loving care and space for development. For the youngest children, the world begins with simple things: a bowl filled with wool that feels wonderful to little hands, or crackling foil that sparks curiosity. We work with vertical groups, where children aged 0 to 4 play and learn together. This setup offers familiar faces and encourages natural development through observation and interaction. Babies receive all the attention and time they need. We talk and play with them, and give them plenty of room to move. We hardly use bouncers, supporting optimal motor development. Nap times follow each child’s natural rhythm. Toddlers discover the world through play. They make their first friends, practice social skills, and are encouraged to crawl, walk, and explore. We believe the process is more important than the outcome — learning happens naturally through practice. Our location offers access to various spaces within the school building, including an atelier for creative expression, a gym for movement, and a drama room for role play. Every day is a new adventure, where children are encouraged to explore their own path and grow in a safe, familiar environment.
