KDV Christoffeltje Venlo

KDV Christoffeltje is part of the ISTIA foundation and is located inside the Rudolf Steiner Educare school building at Zustersstraat 25 in the centre of Venlo. We offer anthroposophical daycare for children aged 0 to 4 in a warm, homely setting. Our doors are open every day from 07:00 to 18:00. We work with three horizontal age groups. The ‘Zonnekinderen’ (0–3 years) stay in their own little house on the playground, maximum 12 children. The ‘Kabouterkinderen’ (2–4 years) are in a classroom next to the kindergarten groups, maximum 16 children. The ‘Bloemenkinderen’ (3–4 years) use the scouting building 160 metres away, maximum 7 children. Zonnekinderen and Kabouterkinderen are open all day; Bloemenkinderen only in the morning from 07:30 to 13:00. Our pedagogy is inspired by Rudolf Steiner’s vision. Imitation, rest, rhythm and repetition are central. We celebrate the seasons with songs, games and yearly festivals. Outdoor napping is part of the programme: since 2018 we have four baby houses / outdoor cribs. Parents give permission via a form. We consciously choose organic food and use toys made of natural materials such as wood, wool, silk and cotton. At Christoffeltje children are given space to become who they are. In a safe environment with fixed rituals and personal attention they develop trust in themselves and in the world. Our bright, friendly rooms and pleasant outdoor play areas invite exploration and play. We look forward to welcoming you and your child!
