Welcome to KDV Berend Botje, location De Pierewiet – the daycare centre in the heart of Enkhuizen where your child feels safe, secure and challenged. We are located at Spaans Leger 31, right in the bustling city centre, and provide care for up to 28 children aged 0 to 4 years. Our modern premises fully meet the latest safety and hygiene standards and feature a private, spacious outdoor playground where children experience new adventures every day. At De Pierewiet we work from the vision ‘Growing through play’. Our pedagogical staff observe and follow every child using the Child Tracking System (KVS). This allows us to tailor activities, play and guidance precisely to your child’s developmental stage and interests. We also offer pre-school education (VVE), which playfully stimulates toddlers’ language and cognitive development and optimally prepares them for primary school. Our groups are arranged horizontally: babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers are in separate groups so that every age receives the calm, stimuli and attention it needs. The very youngest have their own sleeping rooms with cots and blackout blinds; toddlers and pre-schoolers can sleep on their own mattress in the quiet corner during fixed rest periods. Bottle feeding, hot meals and dietary requirements are arranged in consultation with parents; we take allergies and special dietary needs into account. Parents are kept informed daily via our secure Parent App. Here you will find photos, reports and developmental goals for your child. We invite you annually for a 10-minute meeting to discuss the observations and look together at the next developmental steps. You are also always welcome to drop by the location management or contact our parent committee. KDV De Pierewiet is open 51 weeks a year from Monday to Friday. We follow the CAO public holidays and are closed between Christmas and New Year. For childcare during closing days you can use our child-minding agency at no extra mediation costs.
