KC De Boomhut Ter Aar

Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of Kindcentrum De Boomhut in Ter Aar! From the moment your child turns 4 and starts school, they are warmly welcome at our after-school care. We provide care for children aged 4 to 12 years in a green, adventurous environment. Our BSO is located in IKC De Vaart at Beverlanderhof 28, where we work closely with primary school De Vaart. The transition from school to after-school care is therefore smooth and familiar. Children remain in the same group, the Caterpillars, until age 6. Afterwards, they can move to the Wolves (6+ years) and later to the Foxes (8+ years). During each transition, a personal mentor guides your child through a careful settling-in period. At De Boomhut, we believe children develop best when they can move freely and discover through play. Our pedagogical staff work according to the insights of Emmi Pikler, giving each child space to grow at their own pace. We offer a challenging environment where outdoor play is central. Think building huts, climbing trees, woodworking, splashing in puddles, gardening and much more! Our activities focus on discovering and developing talents. Children can do experiments, cook, create artworks, and engage in sports and movement. We organize a popular annual BSO camp with a spectacular theme and offer our 'Outdoor Spot Pit', where children have outdoor adventures all year round in forests, water and meadows. Here they learn skills like making fire and archery. We work with small groups with a fixed child ratio of 1 to 8 and are led by permanent HBO-trained staff. For new children, we offer two settling-in sessions to become familiar with our location and caregivers. We tailor everything to the needs of your child and family.
